The Cake CommitTEA Breakfast Blend

Exciting day. The Cake Committea Breakfast tea is a blend of Sri Lankan tea from the Handunugoda Estate.


Both Tim and I tasted it and liked it straight away in it's black from. However once milk is added, it seem to lose what I call 'brightness', Tim explained that the correct term is 'brisk', so he added some Assam from the Hunwal Estate, and it became a brisk yet soft black tea, with a lovely colour and depth of flavor, plus holding it's own when milk is added.

WELL DONE TIM d'OFFAY !!!


This tea will be for sale at the next cake committee meeting. It is a loose leaf tea, at £4.00 for 50 grams.

The Cake Parade

After lots of meetings and emails, the day of our inaugural event finally arrived. Armed with everything including the kitchen sink we all arrived at the Pullens Centre to show off our very beloved cakes.

Seeing all the cakes beautifully laid out on the tables there was a sudden pang of fear that it would be just us eating the cake. But as the sun decided to give us a glorious day of weather friends and family continually rolled in for their share of tea and cake.  Even curious passers by popped in.

All in all the day was a great success. Thank you to all the bakers and eaters! For those who missed out our next event with be on Sunday 18 October and we also have a Christmas one on Sunday 13 December.
